Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
Habitat succeeds in reintroducing into neighborhoods the most basic building block of any community - the homeowner. Habitat provides resources, guidance, and hope to aspiring families. These families work from within their neighborhoods, creating the change we all seek, and repaying the investment that we have made in them.
Since affiliation with Habitat for Humanity International in 1999, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh has:
Acquired numerous abandoned houses in the City of Newburgh for rehabilitation
Organized thousands of volunteers
Completed 107 houses
Partnered with over 550 individuals, including 274 children
