During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Volunteers are essential to the success of a therapeutic riding program. No previous experience is necessary. Volunteers must be at least 16. No need to worry if you are not comfortable around horses. Our instructors will assign you tasks to match your skill and comfort level and teach you everything you need to know about volunteering for St. Croix Trail Blazers.
Volunteers assist in every area of the organization from fundraising, publicity, maintaining the facility, grooming, and assisting instructors in the arena. If you have grant writing and tracking experience, please let us know.

The mission of this corporation is to provide horseback riding, training, and competitive sports opportunities to individuals with special needs in a safe learning environment through the adaptive equine experience. The values of this corporation are to: • Have a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental community; • Achieve the highest standards of safety for our participants, staff, and horses; • Provide opportunities for education and participation in the care and maintenance of the horses and facility; • Enable participants to improve their horseback riding skills to the full extent of their abilities; • Participate as a delegation of Special Olympics Minnesota.
Our program offers therapeutic riding sessions for ages seven and up. We teach the rider the necessary skills to ride a horse as independently as possible. We are not a Hippotherapy program where the movement of the horse is a treatment tool for physical, occupational or speech therapy. Sessions are one hour in length and no more than five riders in a session.
We'll work with your schedule.
