Mission Statement

The mission of this corporation is to provide horseback riding, training, and competitive sports opportunities to individuals with special needs in a safe learning environment through the adaptive equine experience. The values of this corporation are to: • Have a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental community; • Achieve the highest standards of safety for our participants, staff, and horses; • Provide opportunities for education in the general care of horses; • Enable participants to improve their horseback riding skills to the full extent of their abilities; • Participate as a delegation of Special Olympics Minnesota.

Description

Our program offers adapted riding sessions for ages six and up. We teach the rider the necessary skills to ride a horse as independently as possible. We are not a hippotherapy program where the movement of the horse is a treatment tool for physical, occupational or speech therapy. We do not have leaders or side walkers. Sessions are one hour in length and no more than five riders in a session.

Great place to volunteer, especially if you love horses and working with people.
