Brooklyn Community Services (BCS) is proud to present the 6th Annual Spring Into Action Initiative kicking off on March 20th, 2018. Spring Into Action runs until April 4th and is a Brooklyn-wide volunteer initiative calling on New Yorkers to activate their community passion and volunteer, engage and advocate. Spring into Action is the only volunteer initiative dedicated to Brooklyn’s low-income neighborhoods. We hope that you will partner with us as a lead vollunteer for this exciting event.
Spring Into Action has galvanized more than 1,000 volunteers. This year, we are offering more than 20 service opportunities that impact Brooklyn’s low-income neighborhoods. Check out the Spring Into Action webpage @ http://wearebcs.org/springintoaction/ for a full project list and descriptions.

Description
About Brooklyn Community Services (BCS)
Brooklyn Community Services (BCS), formerly the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service, was founded in 1866, based on our founders’ firm commitment to assist Brooklyn’s neediest and most disadvantaged citizens. Our first project was the Newsboys Home, a refuge for thousands of unschooled, impoverished and unwanted boys who lived by their wits on Brooklyn’s streets. Over the years, we have strengthened countless families at risk of separation; supported and stabilized people with psychiatric illnesses; helped adults with physical and developmental disabilities participate fully in the community; enabled people to move from welfare to work; and offered guidance, education and support to children.
