Growing old in the safety of your own home is a privelege not allowed to everyone. This is even more challenging for seniors with disabilites that make their homes unsafe or for seniors on a fixed income for whom maintaining their home has become an overwhelming challenge.
For these reasons, our handymen & women are here to help! The Safety of Seniors Handyman Program provides in-home safety assessments, minor repairs and safety modifications to promote our mission to keep seniors safe and independent in their homes. These services are available for limited-income homeowners, age 60 and better, residing in Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas, Jefferson, Clear Creek and Gilpin counties.
Jobs include: Install grab bars, replace toilet tank workings, install hand held shower-heads, replace thermostats, fix or replace door handles and locks, install inside railings, install toilet seat adapters, replace broken light fixtures, repair or replace doorbells.
*Volunteers are not required to have a comprehensive knowledge of all services. Individuals are allowed to pick and choose which client requests they will service.*
Becoming a Handyman is a fantastic way to work with your hands and give hope to folks that have no where else to turn to.
