SIGN UP: This is a part of Austin's city-wide It's My Park Day - please sign up here: https://austinparks.givepulse.com/event/37023-Balcones-Canyonlands-Preserve-Cleanup-Large-Metal
DESCRIPTION: We're looking for folks to do some heavy lifting, literally. The Snowden tract of the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve is a beautiful spot, but has old metal farming equipment (like stock tanks) and some rolled up chain-link fencing that needs to be removed. So if you're comfortable lifting 30+ pounds, and want to check out a cool spot not always open to the public, join us! Bathrooms and water will be available in the old farmhouse, and we'll provide snacks. Flowers are starting to bloom in the native plant gardens that volunteers from the Native Plant Society of Texas have been working hard on. If you all have time at the end, we can go on a short hike to check out the property. We really appreciate your help!
REQUIREMENTS: Please bring any needed allergy medications and a signed waiver: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/images/tnr/docs/bccp/volunteer-liability.pdf
If you are under 18, or bringing a minor with you, please fill out the minor waiver form, which requires a parent/guardian signature: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/images/tnr/docs/bccp/volunteer-liability-minor.pdf
