PLACEMENT PURPOSE
Red Cross Media Relations volunteers are part of a professional volunteer team that develops and delivers the Red Cross story behind-the-scenes, on-camera, in-person and online through media channels, websites, social media feeds and other content platforms.
OPEN TIME DAYS
Serve on-call for 1 week shift, every other month. Weekly shift details:⦆
Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Evening/Weekend Shift: Monday - Friday 4:30pm - 8:00am;⦆Saturday - Sunday (8am-8am)
During large scale disaster response⦆- time requirements will increase.
REQUIRED TRAINING- Orientation to the American Red Cross.
- Public Affairs Essentials (Online).
- Introduction to Red Cross Communications
- Social Media Basics.
- Being On-Call Workshop.
- PA Media Relations Training.
- Disaster Cycle Services: An Overview.
