The National Alliance for the Advancement of Haitian Professionals (NAAHP) is looking for a Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Manager guides and coaches the personnel of the HR department. The ideal candidate understands the importance of a purpose driven team and makes every opportunity to support the members of their team. The ideal candidate has the ability and experience of celebrating their team’s achievements and developing their team to meet their optimum potential. Additionally, the HR Manager provides direct support to the Director of Human Resources. Therefore the ideal candidate is capable of managing and prioritizing multiple urgent deadlines. Under the direction of the Director of HR, the manager will be a champion of culture initiatives for the organization. Overall, the ideal candidate will have a "people-first" philosophy, servant-leader attitude, and positive outlook regarding the organization’s vision and mission and the HR department’s goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages day-to-day engagement with HR personnel
- Coaches and develops direct report in the HR department
- Provides direct support to the Director of HR
- Participates in the culture assessment and development of the organization and department
- Strategize and develops various HR plans and procedures with the Director of HR
- Plans, organizes, and manages all activities of the department
- Participates in developing department goals and objectives
- Plan and implement engagement activities for ahr and other departments
- Prepares and maintains volunteer handbook, job descriptions, policies, affirmative action program, etc.
- Works with the HR personnel to complete full cycle recruitment (i.e. screening, extending offers, etc.)
- Conduct HR related activities such as new volunteer’s orientations, career-path program assessment, conducts exit interviews, etc.
- Delegate and track tasks to team members via NAAHP tracking system (Teamwork Project)
- Participates in department and NAAHP meetings/seminars
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of HR
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
- 3 years experience in HR
- 2 years experience in people and/or culture assessment and development
- Experience with working in a collaborative team environment
- Experience in providing customer service
- Comfortable with working in a virtual environment
- Ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with ability to meet deadlines and detail oriented
- Experience with state and/or federal regulations and laws
