Adopt-a-Row at Emergency Food Network’s Mother Earth Farm! Groups, businesses, friends, school groups, clubs, churches, neighborhood associations, youth organizations, or even large families can Adopt-a-Row. It's great for adults and kids!
Volunteers experience the whole growing process on a bed of soil reserved just for them! They help plant seeds in the spring, tend the rows in the summer, and then harvest the bounty in the fall. Each group grows roughly 2,000 pounds of organic vegetables that is given to neighbors in need through EFN’s food pantry partners.
Requirements
- Groups will be responsible for tending to 3 rows between March/April and September.
- Row visits should have between 5 - 10 volunteers per session.
- Groups need to tend to their rows 1-2 times per month.
- All group members need to attend one orientation in March or April.
Benefits
- A personalized sign with the company or group name placed at your row (your group will get to paint your sign at orientation!).
- Featured in EFN’s eNewsletter, social media posts, website, and annual report.
- Pictures and progress reports on your adopted rows to share with family and friends.
- An official adoption certificate.
To register, please contact EFN's Coordinator of Volunteer Activities at (253) 584-1040 or email volunteer@efoodnet.org.

Mission Statement
The mission of Emergency Food Network is "to provide Pierce County with a consistent, diverse and nutritious food supply so that no person goes hungry."
Description
"Currently, 1 in 10 people in Pierce County face food insecurity, and this need is continuing to rise. Through our 75+ Partner Programs (food pantries, meal sites, and shelters) all over Pierce County, EFN distributed over 14 million pounds of food in 2023 to our neighbors in need, including fresh produce grown at EFN’s Mother Earth Farm. This work was made possible by our 2,000+ volunteers, who worked over 12,000 hours in 2023. Volunteer work is vital in helping EFN pursue our mission of ensuring no person goes hungry. Volunteer opportunities include the Repack Project, Home Delivery, EFN’s Mother Earth Farm, and special events throughout the year. We hope you will join us!"
