Volunteers will assist City staff to create a welcoming and clean environment at the Southcrest Recreation Center located in the Southcrest neighborhood of City Council District 8!
Activities include; litter abatement, planting and spreading mulch, non-native brush removal.
Help us clean up the teen center, recreation center and playground areas!
Southcrest Recreation Center serves thousands of San Diego's community members throughout the year providing, sports, arts and crafts, homework help, teen center activites, park space, a fitness center and many other recreational activities and opportunities for community members of all ages! Come out and help us for this one-time event hosted by the Park and Recreation Department during the "City of San Diego Week of Service" to make San Diego a world class city for all!
Shifts from 10:00 a.m.- 12:30p.m. and 12:30p.m. - 3:00p.m. April 24th. You are welcome to apply for both shifts if you have the time! Please wear closed toe shoes, long sleeves and pants and proper sun protection. Water and a limited number of work gloves will be provided, if you have your own leather work gloves, please bring them with you!

San Diego's Park and Recreation Department is responsible for overseeing nearly 40,000 acres of developed and undeveloped open space, more than 340 parks including Balboa Park, Mission Trails Regional Park, and Mission Bay Park; 25 miles of shoreline from Sunset Cliffs to La Jolla; 13 pools; 3 public golf complexes; 56 recreation centers and more. Park and recreation professionals and volunteers host hundreds of community events each year and provide safe places for thousands of children to go after school. City employees and volunteers take great pride to enrich the lives of others through quality parks and programs, designed and developed so that people of all ages, abilities and income levels have the chance to participate in excellent recreational opportunities.
