A "Big Fun" Volunteer Opportunity!!!
During Big Spring, Cleveland Botanical Garden is transformed into a fantastical world where brightly colored flowers tower above you and the ladybugs are larger than life. The show runs Saturday, March 18 through Sunday, April 23. Adults and teen volunteers will discover their inner child while helping our youngest guests learn and enjoy the wonders of springtime through hands-on activities. Volunteers will need mobility and be interested in working with young kids and families.
Volunteer shifts through the show are Tuesday-Saturday, 9:45am-1:30pm or 1:15-5pm and Sundays, 11:45am-2:30 or 2:15-5pm. Student volunteers (14+) are welcome!
Volunteers will choose to help with two areas:
Garden of Fun Attendant
Welcome and engage with guests visiting the indoor Garden of Fun. Children may play with boats in the pond, in the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party area, the Ladybug Labyrinth hedge maze, and the Toadstool Theater. Volunteers may also help with the daily parade with Polly the Honeybee, the garden mascot. Volunteers must be mobile
Mealworm Race Leader
Announce upcoming races, share bug facts and help children select mealworms to race.
Daytime, evening and weekend opportunities available, especially during spring break! A Big Spring Volunteer Orientation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 10am-Noon.
