Thank you for your interest in joining Milwaukee Children’s Choir Board of Directors. Your leadership and active participation as a Director plays a critical role in the Choir’s ability to fulfill its mission and vision, now and into the future. The Board of Directors of Milwaukee Children’s Choir has a responsibility to the community as well as to the Choir itself. The following specific expectations are intended to ensure that all Directors agree to a basic common understanding of what is required to fulfill those responsibilities:
✰ Uphold and affirm the organization’s philosophy, mission, policies, and vision.
✰ Attend at least 75% of the Board and committee meetings; volunteer for the Board and its related activities 6-10 hours/month on an annual basis; and attend at least two MCC performances during the year.
✰ Make an annual financial contribution to Milwaukee Children’s Choir, ensuring that it is a priority among the organizations that you support.
✰ Promote the financial health of the organization.
✰ Act in the best interests of the organization, and abstain from any discussions or votes that might lead to, or be perceived as, a conflict of interest.
✰ Be an informed advocate of the organization’s work.
✰ Share your time, talent, treasure, and influence.
✰ Select the Executive Director and Artistic Director, and support and evaluate their work.
✰ Keep the work of the Board of Directors confidential, unless there is reason to celebrate and share good news with the public.
✰ Support the decisions of the Board.

Milwaukee Children’s Choir provides children, ages 6-18, with exceptional choral music education and performance experiences that foster creativity, personal expression, and social growth.
Milwaukee Children’s Choir is Southeastern Wisconsin’s premier youth choir. Since 1994, Milwaukee Children’s Choir has been delighting audiences and providing children, ages 6-18, with exceptional choral music education and performance experiences that foster creativity, personal expression and social growth.
As an audition-based, advanced children’s choral music program, Milwaukee Children’s Choir maintains five levels of evening choir choral education for children from 1st-12th grades. Offering rehearsal locations throughout the Greater Milwaukee and Lake Country areas, the Children’s Choir incorporates children from throughout the whole of Southeastern Wisconsin. Milwaukee Children’s Choir also serves children during the school day at Milwaukee Public Schools through our Harmony Program.
