Some of the many children who enjoy and benefit from singing with MCC

Thank you for your interest in joining Milwaukee Children’s Choir Board of Directors. Your leadership and active participation as a Director plays a critical role in the Choir’s ability to fulfill its mission and vision, now and into the future. The Board of Directors of Milwaukee Children’s Choir has a responsibility to the community as well as to the Choir itself. The following specific expectations are intended to ensure that all Directors agree to a basic common understanding of what is required to fulfill those responsibilities:

✰ Uphold and affirm the organization’s philosophy, mission, policies, and vision.

✰ Attend at least 75% of the Board and committee meetings; volunteer for the Board and its related activities 6-10 hours/month on an annual basis; and attend at least two MCC performances during the year.

✰ Make a generous annual financial contribution to Milwaukee Children’s Choir, ensuring that it is a priority among the organizations that you support.

✰ Promote the financial health of the organization.

✰ Act in the best interests of the organization, and abstain from any discussions or votes that might lead to, or be perceived as, a conflict of interest.

✰ Be an informed advocate of the organization’s work.

✰ Share your time, talent, treasure, and influence.

✰ Select the Executive Director and Artistic Director, and support and evaluate their work.

✰ Keep the work of the Board of Directors confidential, unless there is reason to celebrate and share good news with the public.

✰ Support the decisions of the Board.
