Help us to help those who rescue animals

This is a remote volunteer position. We need someone to help us to research potential grant opportunities and to research where there may be animal themed events in 2024 that our organization may wish to attend. After an initial chat (and of course a tour if you would like), we can give you all the parameters as to our reach and scope and you can take it from there and work remotely to hopefully provide us with a list to explore possibilities. We have a volunteer to do all the paperwork in terms of grant submission, we just need a person who is good at digging up "stuff'...... (like the dogs of Doing Right By Rescues love to do)!

You can read all about our mission and how we help those who help rescue animals on our website at www.doingrightbyrescues.org and then decide if we would be a good fit for your volunteerism. Thank you for considering us for your volunteerism, we could not do what we do without the support and expertise of kind people like you!

About Doing Right By Rescues

Location:

P.O. Box 552, Pennington, NJ 08534, US

Mission Statement

We are a non profit with two missions; To provide tutoring to individuals who have rescued dogs and to provide low cost educational sessions relevant to those who rescue or foster animals.

Description

We provide assistance with non traditional dog training (not formal obedience) for those who have kindly opened their homes and hearts to rescued dogs. We specialize in providing tips, training and equipment recommendations to deal with reactivity issues which sometimes come with rescued dogs. We also provide hands on customized instruction at our six acre zen-like training facility to help people learn techniques to calm and destress their rescued dogs.

Whether a person has adopted a dog (or is fostering a dog for a non profit organization) we work one on one (no group classes) to support them as they help dogs transition from rescue to rehomed. We also offer home visits for rescued dogs adopted by senior citizens who may be unable to come to our facility.

We are certified Tellington Touch Practitioners and members of the Pet Professionals Guild for Force Free Training and have signed a pledge to employ only kind, positive reinforcement and humane handling techniques at our tutoring barn.
