We need help picking up all the branches and sticks that fall from all the trees in our four acre property and perhaps doing some raking up of pine needles. We have a cart that a volunteer can go around the property and pick up sticks. Please note these are not huge branches just some sticks-so no heavy lifting. In addition there are no dogs on our site when volunteers visit, (Dogs visit us by appointment only)-so no worries about any interactions with dogs. And we promise....no pooper scooper duties. And, if you are up to it you can also spend some time in our "Garden of Weeding" to pull some weed. All tools are provided but we suggest volunteers bring hteir own gardening gloves. We also recommend that volunteers wear closed toes shoes and long pants. You can volunteer for as long or as little as you would like-even just an hour helps us out Your time to do this is not only appreciated but very important as sticks are not only distractors for dogs in training on walks, but also harmful in terms of how they can hurt those on both sides of the leash! Thank you for considering us worthy of your volunteerism, Pam and the dogs of Doing Right By Rescues! And, did you know that our organization has, for the third year in a row, been the recipient of the Great NonProfits Award? We have a three post and rail fence at our site. It is set up just for cosmetic purposes and does not have to be functional. There are a couple of rails and posts that just need propping up-no cementing required. A carpenter helped us with some fixes about a year years ago but the snow (and some visiting deer...who lived here before us anyway) gave it a bit of a push and it is now somewhat lopsided. We keep our facility grounds neat and zen like and we would greatly appreciate a bit of a cosmetic repair to our fence. Perhaps just a bit of steel rebar would do the trick-we are open to advice. We provide the materials. No dogs are kenneled on site (adopters who have rescued dogs bring them up for visits and all dogs go home at night) so there are no worries about having to work around dogs if that is an issue. Small non profits like ours are only sustainable because of the support of kind hearted people (like you reading this request) so any amount of time you could donate to help us repair our fence would be so appreciated! The Dogs of Doing Right by Rescues (past, present and future) thank you for considering us for your volunteerism!

We have a beautiful four acre tutoring facility (non profit) where we help people who have rescued and adopted dogs from animal shelters. We are hoping to beautify our already pretty grounds but do need a little help from an experienced person who can advise us and perhaps donate some landscaping or hardscaping "leftovers" from other projects. If you have a business, in return, we can place signage on our property to indicate that you have helped us help animals-as most of our clients have yards and will need landscaping services in the future. If you don't have a business and just want to help us out-that is super-and most appreciated! Thank you for considering us for your volunteerism-small non profits like ours are only sustainable because of kind supporters like you reading this message. You can read more about how we help those who help animals by taking a look at our website at www.doingrightbyrescues.org With appreciation, Pam And, did you know that our organization has, for the third year in a row, been the recipient of the Great NonProfits Award? We need some assistance in maintaining our outdoor tutoring pavilion area and yard. The work involves light raking of leaves, pine cones and picking up sticks... no poop scooping we promise! The area is peaceful and quiet and all who have volunteered in the past have found their experiences quite relaxing and rewarding. The work is such that you will be outdoors and we usually only have one person working in one area at a time so there is safe distancing. All tools are provided (and sanitized before use). We suggest that you bring your own gardening type gloves and wear closed toe shoes. We are a non profit providing tutoring and educational services to those who have adopted (or are fostering) abused, abandoned animals. Our outdoor area is full of trees and beautiful botanicals in the spring and summer but we do need help to keep it neat and tidy. Those who rescue and adopt animals deserve a Zen like, full of nature setting, and with your help we can provide that type of setting. No dogs are on site when volunteers visit (all dogs are seen by appointment only) so there are no worries about encountering dogs. And we do apologize but we can't have anyone under the age of 18 on our site. We need the helping hands of an arborist or a tree professional to do the following; Trim some small trees so that we can maintain our certification from the National Wildlife Federation as a Wildlife Habitat, and provide a park like environment for our canine clients and the people who love them! In exchange we would of course display your business card/signage for our clients (who all have yards)! We are a non profit providing free tutoring to those who have adopted (or are fostering) dogs from shelters or rescue organizations. We do not kennel dogs onsite, adopters visit with their dogs to receive help with training, behavioral challenges or assistance with transitioning dogs from homeless to forever homed. We work one on one with rescued dogs (no group classes). We try to maintain a zen-like environment (inside of our tutoring barn as well as outdoors on our six acre facility) so that people and pets can learn in a stress free environment. Our volunteers are special people as they don't get to see the people and pets they are helping (most of our canine clients are super scared or reactive towards people so when volunteers are onsite no dogs are visiting). But please know that your helping hands free up our hands to be able to reach and teach more rescued dogs and their people. Please visit our website to see pictures of our website so you know that you will be working in a very peaceful outdoor environment should you chose us for your volunteerism. www.doingrightbyrescues.org Small non profits like ours are only sustainable because of the kindness of volunteers, so thank you for taking a peek at our website and considering us for your volunteerism. Did you hear the news? Because of our client's stories we have just received, for the fourth year in a row, New Jersey's Great Nonprofits Award! Your volunteerism helps us to free up our time to create more stories like these our clients have shared in the link below; https://greatnonprofits.org/org/doing-right-by-rescues
