Phoenix Day is an Early Childhood Education center located in South Phoenix. Phoenix Day has three programs which address specific needs in the community. Phoenix Day’s Early Education Program, HealthLinks Program, and a summer youth program at Central Park.

One of the programs, HealthLinks, works directly with families throughout Maricopa county assisting with the application process for SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and affordable care on the Health Insurance Marketplace. HealthLinks also receives funding to facilitate nutrition education events and car seat classes.

With the recent addition of HealthLinks car seat program we did not anticipate the success and popularity that it would bring. HealthLinks is currently receiving several phone calls a day on the program requesting information and registration to the class. We can certainly use your volunteer time to answer the hundreds of phone calls we are receiving and scheduling upcoming classes for this opportunity. There are also opportunities for data entry on these classes which we could use assistance.

Your office skills could also be used to enter surveys into databases and help with multiple projects such as nutrition nights and special events.

If you are looking for a busy opportunity, working with great people, in a non-profit environment where you are truly appreciated please contact Lynne McCool at 602.252.4911 x 111 or Janet Viloria at 602.252.4911 x 108 for more information and a tour of Phoenix Day and HealthLinks.

About Phoenix Day

Location:

115 East Tonto Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004, US

Mission Statement

To provide children and families a foundation for lifelong learning and healthy living.

Description

As of 2016, Phoenix day has now been serving and assisting families in South Phoenix for over 100 years! We are the oldest continually operated not-for-profit childcare program in Arizona. We are a nationally recognized child care center. Phoenix Day provides quality, affordable childcare for the wealthiest to the neediest of Valley families. Founded in 1915, Phoenix Day offered an innovative service for the time - childcare for World War I wives entering the workforce. From those humble beginnings, Phoenix Day has grown into one of Arizona's most innovative and progressive child learning centers. Today, we are providing low-cost child care and health services to the families of the valley and the working poor. Some of our milestones include, becoming one of the first childcare centers in the state to enroll and integrate children of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, and being chosen as the model for Sesame Street.
