Description

As of 2016, Phoenix day has now been serving and assisting families in South Phoenix for over 100 years! We are the oldest continually operated not-for-profit childcare program in Arizona. We are a nationally recognized child care center. Phoenix Day provides quality, affordable childcare for the wealthiest to the neediest of Valley families. Founded in 1915, Phoenix Day offered an innovative service for the time - childcare for World War I wives entering the workforce. From those humble beginnings, Phoenix Day has grown into one of Arizona's most innovative and progressive child learning centers. Today, we are providing low-cost child care and health services to the families of the valley and the working poor. Some of our milestones include, becoming one of the first childcare centers in the state to enroll and integrate children of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, and being chosen as the model for Sesame Street.

My son is 5 and I would love to help out in any way we can. My son LOVES playing with other children! I could read to other children play with them play sports with them. LOve children but would bring my son with me. Want him to see how important it is to help others. let us know if we can be of any help.

Phoenix Day offers children developmentally appropriate - culturally diverse learning opportunities while supporting language acquistion, conflict resolution, and problem solving. Being a part of a progressive program allowed me the ability to be around young children and contribute to their long-term growth. I was so very impressed with the program, staff, board of directors, and potental works that I had to become more involved in the program. I am currently employeed with Phoenix Day, feeling at home the moment I walked through the front door. It is my deepest belief that you too will feel the amazing effects of Phoenix Day when you walk through the doors for the first time as one of our committed volunteers. I hope to see you there!
