We are looking for enthusiastic people to become Docents for our train ride. Docents ride aboard the train while sharing the history of Maine's unique narrow gauge railways with the public. Whether you have a love of history, or just love trains, the MNGRR is the place for you. 2023 was our 30th year running the train along the beautiful Portland waterfront. Open daily from May through October, and seasonally for special events, the museum draws over 70,000 visitors a year, with volunteers donating over 10,000 hours annually. Share your passion for Portland History and join our volunteer team!

We provide parking and all necessary training for the position. Volunteers must commit to half a day or a full day of volunteer service on a weekly basis (4 or 8 hours).
