CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse) is a non-profit organization serving survivors of domestic violence in Southern Pinellas County. CASA operates the area’s 24-hour crisis hotline and 100-bed emergency shelter, offers community support groups, provides courtroom advocacy, assists the Child Protective Investigative team and conducts community and corporate training. In addition, CASA's Peacemakers Program teaches anti-bullying and healthy relationship curriculum throughout the Pinellas County school system to end the generational cycle of violence.
CASA is seeking groups to serve in our Emergency Shelter or Thrift Shop programs. Smaller groups of 2-5 are ideal for our Thrift Shop (M-F 9am-6pm, Saturday 9am-4pm) and groups of 8-12 are great for our Emergency Shelter (Wednesdays 9am-1pm).
This could include any project, from cleaning or sorting donations, to hosting an Ice Cream Social or serving pre-cooked dinner for the Families at the Shelter.
Please contact Kelly Steele, Volunteer Specialist, to discuss in more detail how your business, church or civic group can arrange to a date to visit CASA and serve the community.
Join our "Whole Community" Project and give back to your community while doing a bit of team building!
