About

If you are looking for a way to give back to your community this winter, consider the becoming a life saving Snow Buddy!

Help us to promote our mission of keeping seniors safe and independent in their homes. Snow is a serious safety issue for seniors. Consider the reality of a disabled senior on a walker trying to get to their driveway to make it to a doctor's appointment, but they are blocked in by snow. This poses a threat of slipping or falling. Additionally, many of our clients may not be able to afford a snow removal service and shoveling snow themselves is a very real health risk.

The Snow Buddy Program at Volunteers of America works hard to pair active volunteers with a senior in their neighborhood. As a volunteer, you commit to shoveling your Snow Buddy's walkway each time there are 2+ inches of snowfall. You may also simply contact your Snow Buddy when it snows to determine if they will need you or not. We hope you will be able to join us in keeping the seniors of our community safe this winter!

In order to apply please contact Molly Barfuss, the Program Coordinator, via Phone: 303-297-0408 (Ext.13130) or Email: mbarfuss@voacolorado.org and mention that you saw the post on VolunteerMatch.
