ChickTechATL is a nonprofit dedicated to getting more girls pursuing STEM opportunities. We are launching our first event for our High School program on January 28-29 at The Iron Yard and need volunteers to help lead an Artificial Intelligence workshop.

More about the workshop -

This project demonstrates how to access and test the Alexa Voice Service using a Java client (running on a Raspberry Pi), and a Node.js server.

What's involved -

  • The rewarding experience of introducing girls to STEM sometimes for the first time
  • 2 full days of hands-on involvement with our high school participants
  • Lunch both days

What's required -

  • Background check
  • One 15-minute intro call and one 1-hour workshop prep call
  • Enthusiasm and excitement!

ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women and non-binary people in the technology workforce and increasing the number of people of marginalized genders pursuing technology-based careers.

Description

ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.

As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
