Here a group of volunteers are preparing the bags that we will later send out into the community.

Grey Bears is seeking volunteer drivers interested in driving 1 - 2 mornings a week picking up food donations from local stores. The routes generally consist of 5 - 6 locations to pick up starting at 7:00 A.M. and are completed no later then 12:00 P.M.; they may also require some heavy lifting at times. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable driving a cargo van and/or box truck requiring a class C license only and enjoy working with the public.

Description

We offer more than 20 ways to volunteer at Grey Bears. - Healthy Food program - quality control, assembling and delivering weekly brown bags - Glean Team - help us pick fruit and other produce for the program. - Thrift Store - sorting donations, prepping/pricing, merchandising and cashiering. - Books - shelve books, cashier, or evaluate and list books on Amazon.com - Computer/ Electronics - We need your tech skills to test and repair donated electronics, audio-video gear, appliances, and to run a register and assist shoppers to find the right component, or disassemble computers in our e-waste center. - Cooks - Help us prepare and serve healthy meals for seniors and volunteers. - Office/Administrative - Help us provide excellent customer service for, and tracking/surveying of Grey Bears program participants. - Facilities Maintenance - Projects abound at our 3-acre Chanticleer campus. Your carpentry, electrical and handyman experience are most appreciated. - Events and classes - we offer weekly and monthly classes, senior support groups and luncheon events that could use your help.
