About

Waukesha County is building a team of volunteers to help assist with behind the scenes administration in times of emergency. Emergencies may include a missing child, natural disaster, or more. Volunteer responsibilities could include registration, interviewing, shift assignment, phone bank, and more. We'll train you for all of them!

Volunteers will be working at our Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) which has a sole purpose to administratively organize spontaneous volunteers in emergencies. The VRC is activated as needed when a disaster arises. We'll contact you to ask for your assistance at the VRC. Shift lengths will vary depending on the disaster or emergency. The location of the VRC will also be dependent on these factors but will be in Waukesha County.

All those interested should contact us for more information and to sign up for one of our trainings. We have minimally two trainings per year as "refresher" trainings.
