Make a difference in a veterans life
So many factors affect the lives of our nations veterans when they return from conflict, beyond just the normal day to day things that the average person deals with. These men and women want to succeed and should succeed.
Sometimes success is closer then you think, you just need a little help to see it. At The Welcome Home Group (TWHG) we work with veterans and their families to help them reach their goals and be successful.
Lack of employment affects so many other aspects of ones lives and veterans are no exception. Without a job cars get repossessed, houses go into foreclosure and families cant be supported. Depression sets in and it all starts to get negative and go downhill. TWHG is focused on solving the problem of veteran unemployment by addressing the issues that veterans are faced with. We work with veterans on the following:
- Creating a highly effective digital resume
(developing a resume that makes sense to corporate) - Sharpening their understanding of the job interview
(helping them understand the interview process) - Coaching the veteran to interview effectively
(helping them to interact successfully with recruiters and hiring managers) - Working with the veteran to make career decisions and get them focused
(helping them decide what they want to do and offering some direction) - Employment matching
(we work with our corporate partners to identify available positions and make the introduction) - Followup and retraining as long as needed
(We keep in touch with the client after they complete the program as a support option)
Our program is currently designed to give the veteran client a one-on-one experience with their career coach which allows a level of focus most other programs aren't able to give them.
We Need To Do More
Like any business, we have to pay bills and purchase supplies. TWHG has in the past 5 years been completely self-funded by our founders. However, we need to grow and do more for our veterans. The nice part...it doesn't take millions of dollars to do what we do. We have successfully operated on approx. $1200. per month for the past 5 years. We have been very successful at that point. We have helped almost 700 veterans and we are just getting started.
TWHG is made up of 100% non-paid volunteers from across the USA.
We need some great people with good hearts to work with us to grow. So, how can you help?
We are currently look for some great people to help us with the following:
- Fundraising
- Volunteer Coordinator Assistant
- Social Media Manager
- Graphic Designer
- Web Designer Assistant

Mission Statement
We leverage military success into rewarding civilian careers
Description
When a veteran returns home they often encounter difficulties in transitioning from a highly structured environment to situations that may involve complete chaos: families that are broken, homes that are coming apart, job loss and unemployment. For these and other reasons, many veterans end up living on the streets after serving our country.
Welcome Home Resumes, an Interactive Employment Program, was founded by Joseph Corsino after he encountered a group of such men who had become homeless. Having come from a family with a military service history, he was outraged by their plight and felt compelled to become involved and find a more effective way to assist the military veterans returning from active duty. After two years of researching the issue of veteran unemployment, he developed an interactive program that assists them in creating AND knowing their resume, training for job interviews, matching them with employment opportunities AND providing an on-going, continuous support system.
Be a part of this national effort and make a difference. Help the men and women of our military get their feet back on solid ground so they may stand with pride in the country they have served.
Together, We Can Do This!!
