Mission Statement

We leverage military success into rewarding civilian careers

Description

When a veteran returns home they often encounter difficulties in transitioning from a highly structured environment to situations that may involve complete chaos: families that are broken, homes that are coming apart, job loss and unemployment. For these and other reasons, many veterans end up living on the streets after serving our country.

Welcome Home Resumes, an Interactive Employment Program, was founded by Joseph Corsino after he encountered a group of such men who had become homeless. Having come from a family with a military service history, he was outraged by their plight and felt compelled to become involved and find a more effective way to assist the military veterans returning from active duty. After two years of researching the issue of veteran unemployment, he developed an interactive program that assists them in creating AND knowing their resume, training for job interviews, matching them with employment opportunities AND providing an on-going, continuous support system.

Be a part of this national effort and make a difference. Help the men and women of our military get their feet back on solid ground so they may stand with pride in the country they have served.

Together, We Can Do This!!

I was told the organization has decided not to bring on any new volunteers until the re-org is complete

I have been volunteering with WHR since early Spring 2014 and I can honestly say I have never met a more dedicated group of volunteers. The entire team at WHR is entirely focused on the success of their clients - our nation's veterans. The energy with this team is unmatched. They are a group of big thinkers that have come together to work toward a common goal. With this organization, there is a sense of belonging and family, and I am continually impressed by how happy I am to be a part of this team.

I have been volunteering with WHR for a few months now. I have not regretted my choice. They are some of the most dedicated people I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with. Their sole focus is helping veterans transition back to civilian life. The organization is staffed by volunteers and all incoming donations/funds are used for providing hands-on services to veterans and their families at no cost to them. If you are looking for a rewarding volunteer opportunity, I can recommend WHR without reservation.

I am a veteran and am deeply touched by their generosity and commitment to helping veterans become employed in the civilian world. It's enjoyable and rewarding to work not only with the veterans, but with WHR staff as well. I feel lucky to have found people who share my passion for helping veterans.
