About

Are you a cat-loving human with 10 hours a week that you can give to getting cats and kittens into forever homes? Then we need you! OC Small Paws is currently in need of a PERMANENT kennel manager to manager our kennel / cattery at Petco Westminster. This location currently houses up to 8 cats. Kennel managers are in charge of checking on the cats 3-4 times per week, making sure that the kennel has everything the volunteers need for cleaning and socializing (supplies, clean beds, toys, etc.) and would need to be available for adoption events at least two Saturdays per month. Adoptions are currently held at this location from 11 am to 2:30 pm but the time can be adjusted if needed. This position, although volunteer, does carry a high level of responsibility and availability to check on the cats with short notice if a cat is sick and needs vet care. Although someone with a full-time job can be a kennel manager (most of us DO hold full-time jobs) it would be best if the person lives or works close to the store. You would get lots of training with one of our other managers (we have five locations) and lots of support from other volunteers.

We are also in need of an ADOPTION EVENTS manager at this location. Although there is still a high-level of responsibility, the committment would be mostly weekends (2-3 per month) from roughly one hour prior to adoptions to up to one hour afterwards.
