Taxes are hard! We make it easy! Volunteer and join a coalition of thousands of volunteers and organizations to provide free tax preparation to low and middle income families. Learn a specialized skill, make a local and meaningful impact in your community, and have a volunteer experience like no other!
VITA is an IRS-sponsored program that has been developed in order to the address the challenges faced by low-income families during tax season. This program trains volunteers to become certified tax preparers in an effort to provide free tax preparation. The collaboration between United Way Bay Area, the IRS, and our organization makes it possible to provide such a great resource to the communities in Santa Clara County.
Volunteers are a critical part of our team of tax preparers that help families navigate the tax season. We are looking for volunteers to assist in preparing taxes for individuals and families in the Mountain View and San Jose areas. As a VITA volunteer, you learn about basic tax law, earn IRS VITA certification, and become part of a passionate and dedicated team of volunteers.
