A great opportunity to "Make A Difference" in the lives of many supported by Sunrise Community, Inc. in the St. Petersburg/Tampa area.

Our Mission: To provide people with disabilities the assistance and support necessary to enable them to

Sunrise Community has provided person centered and innovative services to people with intellectual and physical disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome and spina-bifida, enabling them to achieve higher levels of independence and autonomy. Since the organization’s inception in 1965 we have expanded from providing services to 50 individuals in Florida to more than 2,750 individuals in seven states in 2016.

Utilizing person-centered planning we offer, supported living, residential homes, supported employment, after school care, respite care, behavioral analysis and assessment, physical therapy, nursing, environmental modifications, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, residential habilitation, wheelchairs and adaptive equipment, and transportation. We also operate a senior daycare facility in Florida and Adult Day Training in Alabama, Connecticut, Maryland and Florida.

Sunrise Community, Inc. has a strong infrastructure that has built the organizational capacity necessary to allow for the expansion and growth of the organization. The key elements of the organization’s infrastructure include a powerful and clearly stated mission and vision that aligns with the strategic plan for the future; healthy governance that provides critical working capital; intellect; a positive reputation in the communities we serve, and multiple resources to strengthen the organization.

In the St. Petersburg/Tampa area, we are recruiting energetic individuals to serve on our Advisory Board of Directors. The individual’s values should align with the mission of "Providing people with disabilities the assistance and support necessary to enable them to live valued lives in the community". The Advisory Board of Directors is a volunteer group of individual who assist the organization in raising awareness about those served, legislatively advocate, and help raise funds.
