SAY has contracted with numerous elementary and middle school sites throughout the San Diego Unified School District to provide either a licensed childcare or a PrimeTime (formerly known as '6 to 6’) program on their premises after school.

These sites provide a safe, fun, and enriching environment for school-aged children. A typical day consists of: homework time, organized outdoor play, academic projects, arts and crafts, playtime, and snacks.


Allied Gardens Area

Start Date/End Date:

Late September/early October to the end of semester or the school year

Key Responsibilities:

~Help with assigned homework

~relate well to children and adults

~Willingness to share one’s time with others

~ability to take direction and guidance from the Site Supervisor

~Ability to work with people from diverse cultures


~Must be at least 18 years old

~Must be cleared through TB test, drug test, ~background check

~Must provide proof of immunization for Measles, Pertussis and flu shot

~May be asked to provide references

~Must have reliable transportation

Time Commitment:

1-2 hours per week on either:
Tuesdays/Thursdays, 3:45 - 4:45pm
Wednesdays, 2 - 3pm


~Will be invited to attend our annual Volunteer Recognition Lunch in June

~Working with youth
