Are you a compassionate person looking for a way to connect and give back to your neighbors?

VOA supports family caregivers who are caring for older loved ones at home, by connecting them with community volunteers we call Caring Companions.

Caring Companion volunteers visit with an older neighbor once a week allowing their family caregivers a chance to rest and take care of themselves. Our volunteers get to know the person they are visiting with, and may go for walks, read, listen to music, or other activities that the older person might enjoy.

  • One caregiver commented recently: "Our volunteer has been wonderful. She almost feels like family. I absolutely love Caring Companions and I tell everyone about them."
  • Another said: "We both appreciate our Caring Companion. She has really helped more than she probably knows. They read together and mom really loves that."

If you are looking for a truly meaningful volunteer experience, this is it!
