Peace, Love, Rescue
Help us to help those who rescue animals

We need help picking up all the branches and sticks that fall from all the trees in our four acre property and perhaps doing some raking up of pine needles. We have a cart that a volunteer can go around the property and pick up sticks. Please note these are not huge branches just some sticks-so no heavy lifting. In addition there are no dogs on our site when volunteers visit, (Dogs visit us by appointment only)-so no worries about any interactions with dogs. And we promise....no pooper scooper duties. And, if you are up to it you can also spend some time in our "Garden of Weeding" to pull some weeds. If you have a friend who wants to join in that is great-if not many of our volunteers do so "solo"!

All tools are provided but we suggest volunteers bring hteir own gardening gloves. We also recommend that volunteers wear closed toes shoes and long pants.
You can volunteer for as long or as little as you would like-even just an hour helps us out

Your time to do this is not only appreciated but very important as sticks are not only distractors for dogs in training on walks, but also harmful in terms of how they can hurt those on both sides of the leash!

Thank you for considering us worthy of your volunteerism,

Pam and the dogs of Doing Right By Rescues!

About Doing Right By Rescues

Location:

P.O. Box 552, Pennington, NJ 08534, US

Mission Statement

We are a non profit with two missions; To provide tutoring to individuals who have rescued dogs and to provide low cost educational sessions relevant to those who rescue or foster animals.

Description

We provide assistance with non traditional dog training (not formal obedience) for those who have kindly opened their homes and hearts to rescued dogs. We specialize in providing tips, training and equipment recommendations to deal with reactivity issues which sometimes come with rescued dogs. We also provide hands on customized instruction at our six acre zen-like training facility to help people learn techniques to calm and destress their rescued dogs.

Whether a person has adopted a dog (or is fostering a dog for a non profit organization) we work one on one (no group classes) to support them as they help dogs transition from rescue to rehomed. We also offer home visits for rescued dogs adopted by senior citizens who may be unable to come to our facility.

We are certified Tellington Touch Practitioners and members of the Pet Professionals Guild for Force Free Training and have signed a pledge to employ only kind, positive reinforcement and humane handling techniques at our tutoring barn.
