The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program helps low-to-moderate income individuals and families (who earn less than $54,0000 complete their annual taxes at no cost.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) certifies all VITA volunteers to prepare and electronically file basic income tax forms. VITA volunteers trained to assist clients in claiming special credits and refunds suchas the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The program helps working families improve their finances and increase self-sufficiency.

Vita volunteers must be available to serve at least one four-hour session per week during the 13-week tax season (January - April). VITA volunteers must be 18 years of age and computer literate. No experience is necessary, and all training is provided.

Greeter Volunteer:

A Greeter Volunteer is responsible for welcoming clients to the site program. The volunteer checks to ensure the cliient's ID and social secruity cards are correct. The volunteer will also go over the inital intake form before the appointment with the volunteer tax preparer.
