Brief Summary: Medical Teams International has been working in Moldova since 1996. In 2014 we transitioned our MTI country office to a local NGO called Coram Deo, or "God’s Voice." Coram Deo will be continuing the work of providing much needed services to underserved communities of Moldova. Coram Deo is a local Christian NGO but treats patients of all backgrounds and faiths. Coram Deo works closely with the Ministry of Health with all teams as well as linking all patients to the local church for continued follow up.
Project Activities: Pediatric rehabilitation therapy teams will use Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Therapists to provide direct care to children, especially those with disabilities who do not have access to care. They will also help to develop rehabilitation plans and some hands on training to parents and caregivers where appropriate. There are two communities Coram Deo focuses on; one within the City limits and one in a nearby village.
Our goal is to provide mentoring and counseling services to communities who do not have access to this type of care.
