Key Responsibilities: Develop and create engaging content for our social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). * Looking for Volunteers in both Portland, OR and Seattle, WA metro areas Position Summary: Fulfill the role of a DDS or DMD on a volunteer basis on board a Medical Teams International Mobile Dental Clinic Provide excellent free dental care to low income and underserved individuals lacking dental insurance, means to pay for care themselves or reasonable access to need ed dental care Be compassionate, understanding and respectful to members of our target population Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Diagnose, treat and prevent oral health conditions Examine and diagnose radiographs Properly PARQ each patient - explain treatment options, risks, and answer any questions the patient has, allowing patient autonomy Remove decay, fill cavities, extract teeth Administer a nesthetics, provide prescriptions for antibiotics and other medicine (when appropriate ) Provide instruction on diet, brushing , flossing, use of fluoride and other aspects of dental care Use chart note templates in Open Dental software to complete chart notes for each patient Other Duties: Will be expected to work with assistants and staff that may be unfamiliar to them Must be able to volunteer during hours that meet the needs of the program Must be willing to see most patients on a one-time "chief complaint" need basis as opposed to treatment planning /comprehensive care May occasionally participate in sealant, oral surgery or other specialty clinics according to expertise and preference Protect patient health information in compliance with HIPAA laws Desired Minimum Qualifications: Current p rofessional l icense (DMD or DDS from an accredited dental school) in good standing for the state of practice at a Mobile Dental Clinic . DEA License a bonus Professional Liability Insurance Tools and Equipment Used: Mobile Dental Vans are fully equipped and stocked with current dental equipment, supplies and instruments Open Dental and Dentrix software Physical Demands: Typical of practice in a dental office in a somewhat limited , but adequate work space Prolonged sitting, standing. Must be able to communicate with patients/staff/volunteers effectively. Manual dexterity is required to carry out treatment. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, chemical/respiratory hazards, PPE is required .
