Marketing/Communication/Fundraising Internship with BIKE MS

Under the general supervision of the manager, the intern will be a key member of the Bike MS team and will work on a variety of projects that will help develop customer service, fundraising, marketing and event planning skills.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Analyze and track important data
- Assist with organization of event
- Provide excellent customer service to team captains and bike participants
- Gain exposure to other MS Society events such as Walk MS
- Be a brand ambassador for Bike MS and the organization, through relationship building with local bike shops, fitness apparel vendors, gyms, etc.
- Participate in Bike MS marketing and recruitment activities
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Planning, or other related fields. (Recent graduates can also apply)
- Excellent customer service skills; friendly demeanor on the phone and in person
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Good organizational skills; be detail-oriented; and be able to follow through on projects on time
- Results oriented
- Ability to sit in front of computer for a length of time
- Ability to use phone equipment for a length of time
- Ability to lift 20-30 pounds
- Orientation about NMSS handled by the Volunteer Development Manager
- On the job training about specific project will be handled by the supervisor
- Training on society’s database systems and software
Time Commitment:
- 10-20 hours /week
- January - June
- Available event days (Walk MS=Sunday, May 7; Bike MS=June 9-11)
