Please volunteer to help the Frederick County Health Department's Adult Evaluation & Review Services (AERS) program. TRAINING PROVIDED.

The work: scheduling twice-yearly nurse-monitoring visits for 200-250 AERS clients. The duties would involve:

  1. Calling the client/family/representative to schedule;
  2. Adding appointment to RN Outlook calendar and ACCESS database;
  3. Creating/updating/prepping chart for the visit;
  4. Mailing appointment reminder card to client;
  5. Scheduling interpreter, if needed;
  6. Making reminder call(s) about appointments;
  7. Billing administrative time used for #1-#6 in our LTSS database.

Days and times could be flexible, but ideally 2-3 days a week, for about 2 hours each day. Miid to late morning or afternoon hours would be best.

This opportunity could be shared by several volunteers.

RSVP provides adults 55+ with volunteer opportunities to pursue their interests and use their abilities to meet the needs of residents in Frederick County, Md. RSVP of Frederick County supports volunteer stations by recruiting and matching older volunteers to meet the particular needs of each agency. The skills, interests, and life experiences of volunteers are matched with opportunities offered within the nonprofit community and various government agencies. Volunteers are able to select their assignments and determine their hours of service.

Description

People 55+ can volunteer their time and expertise and make a positive impact in our community. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is America’s largest volunteer network for people age 55+. In Frederick County, RSVP volunteers are making an impact by growing the capacity of public and nonprofit agencies in such areas as: building literacy, distributing food to families in need; delivering meals to homebound individuals; providing transportation to veterans and the homebound; providing health education and outreach programs; providing interpretation services and citizenship classes or tutoring; helping individuals find appropriate housing by filing for tax credits and locating resources for home repairs; assisting agencies with volunteer program development; collaborating with the Commission on Aging to help communities develop "Villages" and the support networks to make them successful.
