We are looking for someone to head up the ChickTech Career Events Team in the Portland area. This team organizes c areer events on the local level and engages in developing event topics, reaching out to the local tech community for workshop leaders, and working on event logisitics and marketing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project manager and glue for Career Events team (see job description for team below)
- Represent ChickTech at many local career-level tech events or delegates opportunity (including but not limited to PDXWIT, WWCode, PyLadies, Donut.js)
- Possible appearance on panels
- Review event budgets
- Attend bi-weekly leadership team meetings
- Regularly meet with career team to ensure events are being held regularly, are relevant, and are being hosted around the entire Portland Metro

ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women and non-binary people in the technology workforce and increasing the number of people of marginalized genders pursuing technology-based careers.
Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
