RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Distributes concert tickets and sells drink tickets.
  • Greets guests at the will-call station and directs them to other areas as needed.
  • Helps sell concert posters after the show.
  • Hangs out with our awesome Director of Marketing + Public Relations!

PURPOSE: For more than a decade, the Morris Museum of Art’s Budweiser True Music Southern Soul + Song concert series has featured icons and rising stars in bluegrass, country, Americana, gospel, roots, and jazz. Past performers have included Doc Watson, Pam Tillis, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The concert series is an annual celebration of southern music that furthers the mission of the Morris Museum of Art: to foster life-long learning and self-awareness through the exploration and understanding of the art and artists of the South (in all forms). The 2016-2017 lineup features Marty Stuart + His Fabulous Superlatives, Mountain Faith, The Travelin’McCourys, The Willis Clan, Sierra Hull, and Hot Rize. LOCATION: The Imperial Theatre, 749 Broad St, Augusta, GA 30901

TIMES NEEDED: One Friday night from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Volunteers for this position are welcome to serving as often as possible from September to February.

DATES NEEDED: Jan 13, Feb 10

QUALIFICATIONS: Money-handling and customer service experience. Pleasant manner, patience, and dependability. (Love for music is a plus! Volunteers receive two comp tickets to the show.)

AGE REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers of the Morris Museum of Art must be 18 years or older.

Description

The Morris Museum of Art holds a collection of over 5,000 paintings and works on paper encompassing a history of art in the South. An associated study center has an extensive library and archives pertaining to artists working in the South. The museum is located on the Riverwalk in downtown Augusta.
