Emmanuel Hospice is a very special, growing, faith-based, non-profit hospice located on the West side of Grand Rapids. We are a close knit team and our staff, volunteers, and patients are like FAMILY to us! Our patients ALWAYS come first. We serve patients all over West Michigan in private homes and in facilities. We were created as a collaboration of 4 retirement communities: Saint Ann’s, Porter Hills, Clark, and Sunset. We are also supported by the Carmelite Sisters of St. Ann's Home.
We are currently looking for volunteers with a special niche for hair and beauty care. Often when a person enters the last stages of life they can no longer go to the hair salon or barber shop. We are looking for a barber, beautician, or cosmetologist who would be able to visit patients in their homes to provide this service. Scheduling is flexible and can be set to fit a volunteer’s personal calendar.
