ORGANIZATION: Alliance for African Assistance

The intern for the Immigration Services intern will be assigned various administrative tasks that are essential to the functioning of the department and will also assist with other office tasks as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Contacting clients, helping them apply to several programs
  • Keep sensitive information confidential
  • Help set up appointments
  • Be knowledgeable, or willing to learn, with immigration issues and applications like DACA and naturalization.

REQUIREMENTS:

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Well connected in the San Diego community a plus
  • A desire to help others through immigration processes
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals, culturally sensitive and aware.
  • Friendly, outgoing, patient, and punctual
  • Spanish or Arabic speaker a plus

COMMITMENT:

The position requires a minimum 3-5 month commitment for 4-8 hours per week. For this position, we are open Monday thru Friday, from 8am to 5pm. We are able to work with flexible schedules.

BENEFITS:

This position offers the opportunity to work in a leadership role and to earn a highly important resume booster for non-profits. Intern will receive a wide variety of experience in the administrative, immigration, and social work fields. Although this position is unpaid, we are happy to provide an internship description and verification if you are seeking to attain college credit for your internship.
