Volunteers here are unappreciated.

At the headquarters, 5952 El Cajon Boulevard, there is an Arabic speaking Middle Eastern woman. She is very unprofessional. She talks to Africans there like trash. I came in to volunteer, and she even talked to me like trash. She was looking at me with disgust. When it was time to sign up for volunteering, she tossed the application towards me and told me to sit down to fill it out. Not only this, but she was watching paternity testing on the Maury Show! The first reputation was not going good. However, when I was told to go upstairs for an immediate interview, I was greeted by more professional women. It was surprising to have a long interview for a volunteer position, but it seemed to go well. I was never called back, even though I am bilingual in an African language, and college educated. Even though I been to some of the countries that these refugees are coming from, I was never contacted. Instead, I found AfriCare, which is a professional non profit organization.
