Job Definition: To assist single moms in developing a plan to meet financial goals and needs, suggesting methods to improve financial health (savings, spending, investing and planning for future).

Job Specifications: Assist Partners to stay on top of their goals. Monitor and document their progress over time. Support Partners in achieving specific short-term and long-term financial goals. Utilize focused financial coaching strategies that promote goal-setting, accountability, and confidence-building. Assist Partners with saving strategies and methods (e.g. how to save for emergencies, unanticipated contingencies, and major purchases such as a car).

Day of Volunteering: Minimum of 2 hours per month

Report To: Dovey French, Program Manager

Compensation: None -Volunteer Opportunity

Record Keeping: Maintain and record written details of Money Mentoring sessions in individual Partner folders. Each volunteer must complete a volunteer application, sign a confidentiality release form, pass a Colorado State Criminal Background Check, and keep track of the hours spent working on the PIH volunteer sheet.

Qualifications:

  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability, interest & motivation to work with PIH Partners
  • Ability to provide financial coaching/counseling
  • Have interactive people skills
  • Adaptable to miscellaneous tasks
