Gatepath Learning Campuses offer more than 100 courses in employment readiness, social skills, educational enrichment, recreational activities, personal health and safety, and community involvement. We are looking for VOLUNTEER LUNCH BUDDIES for one or more 2 hour lunch shifts per week at any of our 3 sties (San Carlos, Burlingame and Daly City.) Bring your lunch and participate in lunchtime activities with our amazing clients. An ongoing minimal commitment of one day per month is appreciated, but we encourage weekly commitments as well.

Gatepath is committed to ensuring and expanding opportunities for adults with special needs to reach their greatest potential and become successful and productive members of the community. Through hands-on training, education, collaborative partnerships, and shared resources, we provide a number of programs that build on an individual's interests and abilities. Our services include vocational assessment and training, individual and group job placement, and courses in social skills, educational enrichment, personal health, safety, and community involvement.

Description

For nearly a century, AbilityPath (formerly Gatepath and Abilities United) has been "Turning Disabilities Into Possibilities". As one of the premier nonprofits in Silicon Valley, we provide inclusive programs for people with special needs at all stages and ages. These programs enable Gatepath to create opportunities of greater independence for children, youth, and adults with special needs and disabilities, empowering both individuals and families through diverse, individualized education and support services. Our dedicated staff encourages physical, developmental, and social well-being at all levels, including early intervention and therapy for children, inclusive preschools, support services for families, social communication programs for youth, vocational training for adults, and employment placement.
