Minnesota Pocket Pet Rescue is a small, but growing nonprofit organization based in the Twin Cities metro area of Minnesota. Entirely run by a team of dedicated volunteers, we serve the local community by providing education and outreach services about small animals known as pocket pets. In addition, we have an established foster network that allows us to rescue animals in need, provide temporary shelter and work towards adopting these pets into permanent, loving homes. Our work is driven by the belief that animal companionship can improve the lives of individuals and families, providing an important public benefit. Likewise we recognize there is key work to be done around reducing the number of animal surrenders and alleviating pressure on local shelters.
We are seeking volunteers for our new board of directors. We strongly encourage individuals to apply for this position who have an interest in animal welfare, social justice, community development and education. While bringing professional experiences to the role of board member is helpful, we are looking for individuals who share our beliefs and who are invested in making a positive impact on our local community.
Board members must commit to a two-year term. Regular participation includes but is not limited to attending monthly meetings and serving on standing committees.
Please go to our website, www.mnpocketpetrescue.org, and click on the "Volunteer" tab to complete an application. The deadline for submission is May 1, 2017.

Mission Statement
MN Pocket Pet Rescue is a 501(c)3 organization committed to the rescue and adoption of small animals in the greater Twin Cities area. Our team is made up of enthusiastic and passionate volunteers who are ready to work hard to serve the underrepresented niche of small animals in the overall rescue community. Some of our small furry friends we specialize in helping include rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, chinchillas, degus, ferrets and sugar gliders. By working with the animal service community and reliable foster volunteers, MPPR aspires to save countless "pocket pets" and place them in the loving forever homes they deserve.
