Want to be a part of exciting growth at our Employment Services satellite site in St. Paul? We are looking for volunteers to be the face of PPL as they help participants navigate to resources. PPL's Hamline Station Employment Services Volunteers provide a Front Desk/Welcome function by helping people navigate to helpful PPL and community resources.
Our participants are eager to get to their next step and seeing them succeed is rewarding! This position is great for those with strong customer service skills, ability to multitask, who know their way around the web, are familiar with MS Office applications, and would be comfortable linking participants to community resources. You don’t need to be a techie; you may pick up some new skills!

Schedule: Lab open Mondays 9-4, Tuesdays 1-8
Current Shifts available: Tuesdays, 4-7pm or 5-8pm
What you'll do:
- Direct adults to PPL and community resources (employment, housing, childcare, etc.)
- Assist first-time participants in completing program application
- Orient new participants to lab policies
- Help maintain a professional environment and ensure guests use the space appropriately
- On occasion, assist participants by helping with online job search, email setup, and resumes and cover letters as needed
- Assist with specials projects and lab maintenance
- Hands-on experience working with adults in a diverse community setting
- Opportunity to empower others through sharing your skills and knowledge
- Experience working with diverse communities preferred
- Self-directed, patient, flexible, and dependable
- Comfortable with MS Word, internet browsing, and general computer use
- Ability to engage adults of diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Comfortable guiding adults on resume and cover letter content and format
- Commitment to helping adults improve their job search skills
