ORGANIZATION: Lantern Community Services

  • 19 people are interested

Lantern Community Services champions the independence and well-being of New Yorkers who have been impacted by or threatened with homelessness. We provide innovative services covering health, education, employment, nutrition and the arts to help New Yorkers who are formerly homeless or have recently aged out of foster care recreate their lives.
We’re looking for a volunteer who cares about homelessness and loves admin to support our Directors of Nutrition and Arts & Culture for a couple of hours each week at our office in midtown Manhattan. As an Admin Volunteer, we’ll ask you to pitch in on lots of different tasks, such as helping manage our rapidly expanding photo library, logging expenses for food and other supplies made for our clients, creating flyers for events, and compiling information such as lists of healthy recipes.
Volunteers should be available during business hours (Monday to Friday), for around 4 hours every 2 weeks.
Great Lantern volunteers are non-judgmental, reliable, and really care about the problem of homelessness in New York City. If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
