WhoWhatWhy, an up-and-coming non-profit investigative and analytical news site that specializes in responsibly tackling the many subjects and stories the mainstream media shies away from, is looking for an ambitious, proactive individual who knows how to spot last minute news to became our Breaking News Editor. We don't promote a partisan angle or push predictable views. We do dig deep, think hard, read a lot of history, ask a lot of questions, steer clear of establishment or consensus journalism, and write up what we find with verve. It's interesting, cool, and meaningful work.

Position Summary:

As a Breaking News Editor, you will be responsable to daily monitor and capture top stories and breaking news as they happen, make quick breaking news decisions, and assign rapid turn-around stories to a team of reporters. You will be part of a motivated team identifying opportunities to increase web traffic, page views and producing compelling journalism that services readers of WhoWhatWhy.

The ideal candidate will have a natural sense of urgency, strong news judgment and polished editing skills.

Requirements:

  • College Degree
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an Editor
  • Passion for Reading and good judment to identify top stories
