Volunteers are needed to assist South Cumminsville residents with limited computer skills during weekly sessions in WIN’s community computer lab. Computer Lab Assistants will be onsite for at least two hours a week (Monday - Friday) between 9 AM and 5 PM to help job-seeking residents gain the skills and confidence to conduct online job searches, build resumes, write cover letters, and complete online applications.

Responsibilities:
- start-up, log-in, and shut-down of computers in WIN’s computer lab
- provide technical assistance to job seekers, especially those with limited computer skills
- help jobseekers with proof-reading and editing resumes and cover letters, if needed
- sharing information about job search tools, techniques, and resources

Qualifications:
- proficient with email, online search engines, Microsoft Office, and other basic computer skills
- familiar with building resumes, writing cover letters, and completing online job applications
- willing to assist job-seekers in their employment search in a patient, respectful, and judgment-free manner
- able to effectively communicate about available job-search resources and information related to addressing employment barriers
- comfortable working in low-income neighborhoods with diverse populations
- must maintain the privacy and dignity of the people receiving assistance
- must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

Since 1978, Working In Neighborhoods (WIN) has assisted low- and moderate-income residents of Hamilton County bring stability to their neighborhoods and their families. WIN is a non-profit community development corporation and a HUD-certified housing counseling agency that focuses on the areas of housing development, home ownership, foreclosure prevention, energy conservation, and leadership development.
