YOU DON’T HAVE TO SWING A HAMMER TO HELP HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BUILD HOMES. ReStore Elgin is a resale store of new and gently used Furniture, Home Accessories, Appliances and Building Materials with all proceeds going to fund Habitat for Humanity in our area.

  • Volunteers are needed to support all of the reselling efforts to increase these proceeds.
  • Volunteer tasks are focused on our mission to make sure that "Everybody deserves a decent place to live!"
  • Shifts: Serve as little as every other week for 3 to 4 hours.
  • Training: "NEW TO RESTORE ORIENTATION" is held once a month tol give you all you need to know to get started. On your 1 st day you work with Volunteer Mentor.
  • Court ordered Community Service: ReStore accepts those individuals that need to complete 30 hours or more. Must serve at least 2-four hour shifts per month.

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities, and hope. Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes, by advocating for fair and just housing policies, and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Description

Using volunteer labor, we build mostly new homes. We also do some restoration and rehab work. We also fund three home preservation programs. They are A Brush with Kindness, Critical Home Repair and Aging in Place.
