Families in Transition is looking for sorters to join our volunteers at our OutFITters store in Manchester. This position involves sorting through clothing AND domestic items. All proceeds from OutFITters Thrift Stores go directly back to funding Families in Transition, so our volunteers help us to raise money to provide housing for the participants who are living with us! Volunteers provide key support in our mission to help homeless and at risk individuals and families in our community, so if you're interested in getting involved then join our team!
The full list of job duties for each position is as follows:
Clothing Sorters:
* Sorting adult and kids clothing donations
* Organizing, hanging and tagging clothing
* Pricing outerwear clothing items
* Refilling store floor clothing racks
* Organizing and cleaning backroom work stations
Domestics Sorters:
* Sorting bed, bath, table, and window linens
* Sorting purses, bags, and luggage
* Pricing items and maintaining inventory
* Organizing and cleaning backroom work stations
Book Lovers!
Light Cleaning to maintain appearance
We are looking for volunteers anytime Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 9:00-6:00PM or anytime Thursdays or Fridays from 9:00-8:00PM.

Description
Volunteering within the agency is a great opportunity to really see our mission at work and to connect with our staff and participants. Some of these volunteer opportunities include shifts at the food pantry, serving a meal at the shelter, sorting donations at Outfitters, helping with building maintenance, and supporting our staff with various administrative projects. We have opportunities for both individuals and groups as well as on-going and one-time projects.
