Mission Statement

At Families in Transition our mission is To Prevent and Break the Cycle of Homelessness. There are countless ways to get involved with Families in Transition. At the heart of everything we do are individuals and organizations that choose to donate their time, money and services to help us make a difference in the lives of so many.

Description

Volunteering within the agency is a great opportunity to really see our mission at work and to connect with our staff and participants. Some of these volunteer opportunities include shifts at the food pantry, serving a meal at the shelter, sorting donations at Outfitters, helping with building maintenance, and supporting our staff with various administrative projects. We have opportunities for both individuals and groups as well as on-going and one-time projects.

For more information and to sign-up for a 1-hour virtual volunteer orientation please visit our website at https://www.fitnh.org/get-involved/volunteer/.

I am currently a volunteer intern at Families in Transition and have found it to be a great organization that is very dedicated to the participants they work with as well as taking care of staff members. The people I have worked with are very supportive and I have learned a lot from volunteering. Families in Transition is making a huge impact in the lives of the families they serve and I would definitely recommend volunteering here because Families in Transition is so important for families in Manchester.
